Goodwill of Orange County Mission
Our Mission is to provide people with disabilities and other barriers the opportunity to achieve their highest levels of personal and economic independence. At the Goodwill Fitness Center, we believe that every person, regardless of physical disability or health status, can benefit from a comprehensive exercise program. There are currently about 70,000 adults in Orange County living with physical disabilities, and the number grows each year. Until now there has been no fitness center in Orange County to serve this population.

What We Offer
- A state-of-the-art fitness center for people with disabilities or chronic illness opened in 2008.
- More than 12,000 square feet of space, specialized equipment and energizing design.
Who We Serve
- The Goodwill Fitness Center was designed for people with a number of disabilities or chronic illnesses which could include: spinal cord injury, cardiovascular disease, multiple sclerosis, hypertension, diabetes, osteoporosis, arthritis, high cholesterol, asthma, stroke rehabilitation, joint replacements (hip or knee), muscular dystrophy, cerebral palsy, cancer, deafness, blindness, obesity, amputations, Parkinson’s disease, fibromyalgia or traumatic brain injuries.
Why
- Exercise is an activity many enjoy, people with disabilities should have the same opportunity to improve their health and stretch their abilities.
- No fitness center in Orange County currently serves people with disabilities other than facilities designed for short-term rehabilitation.
- There is a critical time when exercise is vital to avoid secondary health conditions.
- Conventional fitness centers do not provide accessibility, the appropriate equipment, or qualified staff.
What We Need
- Members who have the desire to improve their health througth a comprehensive stay-fit program.
- Your strongest muscle, your heart. Your support is needed as some of our neighbors with physical disabilities and chronic illness are traveling all the way to San Diego or Los Angeles counties to work out, at considerable cost, time and inconvenience. Others simply have no way to exercise, which can worsen their physical and mental health. The Fitness Center will serve these people regardless of their ability to pay.
