Goodwill of Orange County gets greener Goodwill of Orange County, widely known for collecting, re-using and re-cycling used goods, has launched Goodwill E-waste Solutions. This electronic waste program offers a safe and easy way for both consumers and businesses to dispose of their electronics free of charge at more than 30 donation centers throughout Orange County Businesses enjoy free pick ups for donations of 20 items or more. As a state certified collector of electronics, Goodwill of Orange County collects and recycles all electronic waste, working or non-working. Proceeds from electronic donations will support Goodwill’s education training and employment services for people with disabilities and other barriers to independence. “Electronic waste can be harmful to the environment and our goal is to keep these products out of our already overflowing landfills,” says Dan Rogers president & CEO of Goodwill of Orange County. “By working with Goodwill to dispose of their electronics, people and businesses in Orange County can give back to their community while making a difference in the lives of others. Goodwill of Orange County, now in its 83rd year, has provided thousands of people with disabilities and other barriers the opportunity to achieve their highest levels of personal and economic independence through competitive employment. The nonprofit organization’s programs assist individuals with work and social abilities, cultural and language skills and to help them succeed at home, at school and in the workplace.
