Denton Knapp is the Director of the Tierney Center for Veteran Services. He retired as Colonel, U.S. Army, following 30-years of active service. He continues to serve as a Brigadier General in the California State Guard as the Deputy Commander, 40th Infantry Division. Denton, a graduate of the United States Military Academy, West Point, served in numerous command and staff positions, including multiple combat commands in Iraq and Afghanistan. He holds degrees in Organizational Leadership (BS), Master of Aeronautical Science, and Master of Strategic Studies.
Jade Smith serves as Veterans Outreach Supervisor and has worked in the Orange County community for more than 20 years, many of those directly with active duty military and veterans. Jade also serves as Co-Chair for the Orange County Military and Veteran Families Collaborative’s Housing Working Group. Within this group she leads collaboration between local service providers, the county’s coordinated entry system and Veteran’s Affairs to find stable housing for veterans and their families. As the granddaughter of a WWII Marine, she is passionate about serving our veteran population and linking them to needed services so they may be successful in the community.
Robert Rodriguez is a retired Marine Master Sergeant, retired Orange County Deputy Sheriff and the Training and Employment Supervisor for the Tierney Center for Veteran Services. Robert has a Bachelor’s degree in Homeland Security and Emergency Management and a Master’s degree in Human Resources Management from National University.
Amy Yeh has planned, directed and coordinated the operations of public and private sector organizations for more than eight years. Amy’s experience includes overseeing corporate contracts, including those of Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA), developing sustainability strategies, and addressing contract issues related to cost control, resource usage, and operational compliance. Amy has invaluable expertise in compliance and quality management.
Patrick Thomson has been a Veteran Outreach Specialist for the Tierney Center for Veteran Services since 2016. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Speech Communication and is trained as a Certified Peer Navigator. These qualifications have served him well as he is constantly communicating with veterans, assessing their needs and providing appropriate resources. Patrick is a U.S. Air Force Vietnam Veteran, and as such has an instant point of commonality and comfort with veterans who come to the Tierney Center. Patrick was honored to receive the 2020 Orange County Veteran of the Year Award from the Orange County Rescue Mission.
Manny De Anda is an Employment Specialist at the Tierney Center for Veteran Services. He is a United States Marine Corps Veteran with multiple combat deployments to Iraq. Manny has experience in Law Enforcement and teaching English overseas, and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications/Public Relations from Cal State Fullerton. He strives to help the veteran community in any way possible.
Bryant Powell is an Outreach Specialist for the Tierney Center for Veteran Services. Bryant has been working in veteran services in Orange County for five years. He previously spent nine years in the United States Marine Corps serving in the infantry. During his time on active duty, he was able to experience multiple tours to both Iraq and Afghanistan. After finishing active duty as a Sergeant of Marines, Bryant earned a Masters Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy.
