Name: Lauren Mennig

Title: Assistive Technology Exchange Center Manager

Years working at Goodwill of OC: 10

What is your favorite part about working at Goodwill?

Being a part of a team that is passionate about serving and working with our program participants. Also, being able to see how assistive technology can help provide an opportunity and hope for people with disabilities to become more independent at work, school and home.

What do you like to do in your free time?

I enjoy spending time with my husband, Chris and our kids. We enjoy being outdoors, going to the beach, camping, hiking and backpacking. I also enjoy photography, drawing and DIY projects.

What is your favorite Goodwill memory?

A recent favorite member was at our Gala where one of our participants, Joy shared her story about how our ATEC Rehabilitation Engineer, Kevin Daugherty helped her with the technology that she needs at work. When she spoke about Kevin’s expertise, patience and passion to serve those we work with, it reminded me how much I love what we do here and that it does make a difference.

What’s your hidden talent?

My family thinks that I am artistic. I do enjoy drawing, painting and photography, however I do not typically share this with many people, so I guess that is my “hidden” talent.

To me, Goodwill means…

hope. Goodwill provides an opportunity to people who may have thought that they may not be able to get back to work, go to school or hear their child speak.
