Employment WORKS Program | Meet Floree

October 19, 2023

“At Goodwill Employment WORKS, you will have someone who will help you, understands you and walk with you on your journey. Then, when you’re ready, we will watch you spread your wings and succeed!”

Floree serves as an Employment Specialist at the Goodwill of Orange County’s Employment WORKS South location.

One of Floree’s biggest barriers to reentering the workforce was her own mental health. After partnering with Goodwill of Orange County’s Employment WORKS program, Floree was able to receive essential resources and support she needed to achieve her career goals.

Grappling with self-doubt, Floree questioned her abilities due to learning disabilities and a constant worry about meeting workspace requirements. Through encouragement from the EWORKS team, Floree built her confidence and learned that self-compassion and patience were the keys to her progress.

What she values most about the EWORKS program is the absence of judgment and the camaraderie among participants who have experienced similar challenges. Support is abundant, and no one walks the path alone here.

As an Employment Specialist, Floree finds great satisfaction in facilitating the growth and success of her clients. She takes great pride in witnessing the program participants’ personal and professional development.

Floree’s final message to anyone contemplating working or volunteering is to never give up on yourself and that there is someone out there who believes in you.

Goodwill of Orange County’s Employment WORKS program is a bridge to brighter professional futures. The program offers job placement and retention services for adults with mental health diagnoses, working alongside specialists and peer mentors to identify promising job opportunities, achieve vocational goals, and thrive in the workforce.
