My biggest barrier in getting back to work was my lack of confidence and being nervous about getting into a different field from my previous work experience.

Goodwill Employment WORKS helped me feel comfortable with trying something new. They helped me with my resume, helped me apply for jobs and prepare for interviews.

I like being a Peer Mentor because I am having a direct impact on people’s lives and providing support to people who need it.

Working improves my quality of life by giving me a purpose. It keeps me busy and makes me more financially independent.

I would advise anyone getting back to work to consider if potential jobs will impact their mental and physical health goals.
