Suydam to Chair Association of 13 Goodwill Member Organizations in California and Oregon

SANTA ANA, Calif., April 13, 2023 – Nicole Suydam, President and CEO of Goodwill of Orange County, has been elected as Chair of the Association of California Goodwills, effective January 1, 2023.

The Association of California Goodwills is a professional association made up of 13 Goodwill member organizations operating in California and Southern Oregon who collaborate, advocate and deliver programs and policies that help people and communities through training, development and employment.

The council was established in 1970 to pool member expertise, contacts and resources to monitor business trends, influence public policy and raise awareness of Goodwill’s collective mission and workforce development programs.

“I am honored to serve my Goodwill colleagues as Chair for the Association of California Goodwills,” said Suydam. “I look forward to continuing the momentum to advance our statewide collaboration on workforce development programs, public policy, marketing and environmental sustainability.”

As chair, Suydam will lead the Association in statewide and regional collaborative ventures that advance Goodwill’s service offerings.

The statewide impact of the Association and its member organizations is immense. In 2022, the Association collectively placed more than 24,000 people into jobs and were responsible for more than $1.5 billion in total economic output. Last year alone, the member organizations kept 174 million pounds of goods out of local landfills.
