Last week, Goodwill of Orange County celebrated Goodwill Industries Week. Observed the first full week of May since 1951, Goodwill Industries Week highlights the mission of Goodwill โ helping people facing barriers find and keep meaningful employment.
Instead of hosting a sale or a job fair, our top executives rolled up their sleeves to work alongside our essential employees at #OCGoodwill stores across Orange County. President and CEO Nicole Suydam and other Goodwill leaders completed key retail responsibilities including stocking shelves, ringing up customers, hanging and organizing inventory, accepting donations and more.
The culture of Goodwill stands out as we all share one common purpose – to support our mission. We understand that the power of work strengthens individuals, families and our community. We understand that the power of work provides more than a job; it provides purpose, pride and dignity.
Fulfilling our mission means fostering an environment of respect, support and kindness. Taking the time to appreciate and work alongside our retail employees during Goodwill Industries Week was a great way to recognize and reinforce the important role that the retail operation plays in the success of our organization.
Thank you to our incredible executives for stepping away from their desks to work alongside our valuable retail employees! Until next year, Goodwill Industries Week!
