Partnership Spotlight: CareCo

June 10, 2020

In 2019, a great partnership between #OCGoodwill’s Supported Employment program and CareCo in Mission Viejo was born. Led by owner Jeff Martin and Manager Fred Knilans, the collaboration continues to strengthen and reflect Goodwill’s core values.

CareCo, manufacturers of Scent Bomb air freshener, currently employs three deserving and hardworking Supported Employment program participants — Iman A., Bryce H. and Cail M. They are joined by their awesome job coach Esmeralda R. Since day one, the team has been welcomed with open arms into the Scent Bomb family.

The main task of the group is to package car scents by different sizes and amount for major clients like Auto Zone and Walmart. The team also performs various assignments such as the “Quick Care” task where they package shoe cleaner merchandise.

Since the COVID-19 pandemic started, Scent Bomb has adapted a safe way to still operate and, most importantly, to keep jobs for their team.

In addition to their usual duties, the Goodwill team is now also processing and packaging hand sanitizers. The team is energized and has an increased drive to help the community.

CareCo is an amazing employer who supports our program and each program participant. Their priority has always been to ensure the full inclusion of our team as they have been integrated into the Scent Bomb family. During these difficult and unprecedented times, the safety and wellbeing of our team remains at the forefront of all they do.

Thank you CareCo for supporting our mission, the people we serve, and for living our values!
