Sharing Goodwill: Dr. Morgan and the Fight Against Human Trafficking

September 8, 2021

On this special episode of Sharing Goodwill with Goodwill of Orange County CEO Nicole Suydam, Dr. Sandra Morgan educates us all on human trafficking and how we can fight to protect the most vulnerable.

Dr. Morgan is the Director of the Global Center for Women and Justice at Vanguard University. The center is dedicated to preventing human trafficking, providing educational resources to the community. conducting integrated research, and advocating for victims and survivors. Its mission spells REACH: research, education, advocacy, and collaboration to build hope.

Especially now in the isolated and online world accelerated by the pandemic, human trafficking is still prevalent and growing, with more than 80% of recruits happening online. Dr. Morgan discusses the need for internet safety in each household and community, as well as the importance of studying common signs of trafficking.

Dr. Morgan also encourages listeners to fight against labor trafficking through ethical shopping—a pillar of Goodwill of Orange County’s mission of sustainability.
