Temporary Store and Program Closures

March 17, 2020

To our Goodwill of Orange County Community,

In immediate response to the County of Orange’s Health Officer Order, all Goodwill of Orange County retail locations, donation sites, distribution center and programs will be closed until further notice.

We realize the impact these closures will have on our employees and our loyal shoppers and donors.

Remote working for some staff has been implemented  to ensure the long-term sustainability of our operation, and some services will remain open as mandated by funders and government entities.

This is a fluid situation, we will be monitoring and adjusting recovery plans and timelines accordingly in collaboration with state and local health authorities.

Our commitment to you and our organization’s core values, as well as our position as a leader in Orange County, propelled us to make this tough decision. In all we do, we will always strive to create more good in Orange County and sustain our mission to serve people through meaningful employment.

During this time, I will working with our Board of Directors, with our bank, with our state and local officials, and community partners on a robust recovery plan — knowing that when we get to the other side of this, our community will need us more than ever.

These are unprecedented and tough times for our organization and for our peers in Orange County and across the country. While we don’t know exactly what the future may hold, we feel confident that we will preserve our mission and emerge from this stronger than ever.

Thank you for your support of Goodwill of Orange County.

In service to you and to our mission,
Nicole Suydam
President & CEO
