Donating 101

Here’s your one-stop shop for what you can and cannot donate at Goodwill! Tune in for a fun way to get to know our donating guidelines. 

KITCHEN AND HOME APPLIANCES

Do you accept glassware and silverware?

Yes! We accept houseware including cookware, dishes, silverware, glassware, artwork and picture frames, luggage, pillows, pillowcases, blankets, comforters, curtains, and towels.

Do you accept broken housewares?

No. Please do not donate broken houseware items. 

FURNITURE

Do you accept furniture?

Yes, we accept antiques, most bedroom furniture, chairs, couches, rugs, headboards, dining tables, etc. Furniture donations are only accepted at our store locations and Corporate Campus Donation Center.

Do you accept broken, soiled or damaged furniture?

Because we’d like to ensure every item is in good condition for our customers, please do not donate any broken or damaged furniture.

Do you accept mattresses?

Yes! Mattresses and metal bed frames are accepted only at our Santa Ana Corporate Campus Donation Center located at 410 N. Fairview St., Santa Ana, CA 92703. 

ELECTRONICS

Can you discard unwanted electronics?

Yes! When outdated TVs, computers, printers and electronics pile up, turn to Goodwill of Orange County as your safe and responsible solution for disposal.

Can you donate electronics even though they do not work?

Yes, we accept anything with a cord or battery working or not, including televisions, computers, monitors, DVD players, radios, stereo systems and power tools.

Do you accept batteries of any size or type?

No, unless it is contained in the electronic device.

If I donate my computer, will you wipe the hard drive? 

Yes, Goodwill’s electronics recycling team safely wipes hard drives and removes all data before reselling or recycling any donated electronics.
