Total 2017 sales were $94.7 million; 48 million users visited the site
SANTA ANA, Calif. – March 13, 2018– shopgoodwill.com, the e-commerce auction platform that makes available the sale of tens of thousands of items from more than 120 Goodwill organizations nationwide, announced today it hit record visits and revenue in January 2018.
The results include:
- Total site revenue: $9.3 million – beating the previous record set in March 2017 by nearly $900,000.
- Buyer registrations: 47.1% increase over January 2017, with a staggering average of 927 new buyers registering per day.
- Items sold: 302,188 – 12.2% increase over January 2017.

Its 2017 results also included:
- Total sales: $94.7 million, a 12.6% increase over 2016.
- Total visitors to shopcom reached more than 48 million.
- shopcom received more than 1.18 billion-page views.
- Across the U.S., shopcom employed nearly 3,000 people to operate the respective e-commerce operations.
Talarico said he expects the momentum to carry into 2018, as the site integrates new features and practices to enhance and optimize the listing process.
In addition to new technology, shopgoodwill.com recently announced a partnership with the Retired NFL Players Congress to supply signed jerseys, unique experiences with current and retired football stars, game-worn items, and other exclusive memorabilia for auction to raise money for military veterans.
E-commerce revenue in 2017 supported 2.1 million hours of resume time, 2.6 million hours of job search assistance or 1.8 million hours of career counseling for those with barriers to employment, including people with disabilities and veterans.
More than 90-percent of an item’s final sale price goes back to the Goodwill location that listed the item. The more than $560 million in online sales generated on the site has funded thousands of new job placements, education and career advancement programs that have served tens of thousands of people around the country facing barriers to employment.
shopgoodwill.com is the first e-commerce auction platform created, owned and operated by a nonprofit organization.
